Funny Clips

The Internet never fails to amaze me.

This is a catchy song and the guy in the clip has done a lot to promote the tune.

It's a great laugh.

Frontier Website in for Overhaul

8 05 2006

The Frontier Internet Zone website is getting a major update.

Fronbtier PC Tutorings' flagship website www.frontierpctutoring.com will undergo major reconstruction this year to bring it back into line with FPCT busines plans. David Cook, owner of Frontier PC Tutoring says it is a major upgrade that involves a total rebuild of many of the features people are used to seeing on the site. He says the site had slowly lost its' primary role of educating new Internet users and introducing them to the many actvities available from the Internet and become "just another" shopping mall. The shopping options have proved popular and will continue to be available in the revamped site however they will be part of the education prossess and featured as an activity with information on how it works.

The website will undergo a name change back to the original Frontier Patient Computer Tutoring and the current site name will move to the frontierinternetzone domain and feature the curent format with sales and service options without the education tilt.

The new websites structure is said to be more interactive and will contain many features such as Internet TV and podcasting options.

The upgrade will take place in the second half of 2006.

Hotmail Email Addresses to Stay.

8 05 2006

MICROSOFT has denied that Hotmail users will be stripped of their email addresses when it launches Windows Live Mail.

Martin Hoffman
Reassurance: Martin Hoffman says old Hotmail addresses will still be useable with Windows Live Mail Picture: Chris Pavlich

Executives are promising the service’s 230 million users that they will be able to keep their familiar log-ins under the Windows Live banner.

Yes thats right! Hotmail will dissappear but your email address will stay under the new Windows Live service to be launched some time soon. Don’t panic if you have a hotmail or msn email address as it will stay and work. Windows live is in beta testing and is part of Microsoft’s push to gain more revenue from live services as opposed to software licencing.

Updating Mobile Phone

2 05 2006

Well it is that time of the contract again and my mobile phone company has approached me with great offers and carrots to keep me with them. This is all good however they do not stock the phones that i want so i always have to bargain with them and make them work for my business. Last time I wanted an 02 Smart-phone and I was walking out my door to go down the street to an opposition company before they phoned back and said they could get me the phone I wanted.

I was hoping that this time around things would be a little easier but I was prepared anyway and had done my homework on the phones they stocked and the phones I wanted. Alas, what they have and what I want are once again 2 different things. They have all these Nokia and Motorolla, Samsung and other toy phones but I want  an 02 mini pro or Imate Kjam. Well t hey couldn't help me with  that so it looked like I was off to the opposition for real this time.

once again I tried to ring the opposing company but they were engaged. I tried again, still engaged. i put the phone down and I get a call from the person who could help me befre and she says that knock $700  of an 02 ATOM if I stayed with them on the same plan for another 24 months.

well $345 for an 02 ATOM was a great price I thought as my plan was staying the same and I was gearing up to buy an iMate KJam for $1100 so I am now soon to be new owner of an 02Atom.

I will post reviews or updates on the 02ATOM as I read some mixed reviews (and still got one) but I think the sofware upgrades have fixed the problems listed. My phone will have to be ordered so i hope the firmware upgrades are all installed. I will have the phone in a few weeks and will post my thoughts here.

My posts have been far and flung but they are still coming so keep looking for something to interest you. Even give some feedback.

that's all for now, until next time, stay happy and well.

Keeping on Topic in Forums

2 05 2006

Hello world. todays topic is about forums and how they seem to degenerate into slanging zones for people more worried about how they are seen and not about the content in the forum.

Do you find this problem? i mean, a person may log into a forum and post a topic about using MSN Messenger and before long there is an all out blue about mothers staying at home and not working hard enough. (Thats todays example) Go into any forum and there is a good chance many of the topics have a change of agenda before the final post is posted. I find the geeks and techs or (dorks like me) are less prone to leaving the topic and launching a personal attack on some one who does not agree with someones opinion.

Forums are great but the challenge is to keep them on topic.

What are your thoughts and experiences?
